Australian Vodafone iPhone pricing accidentally revealed! E-mail

Vodafone Australia accidentally published its iPhone pricing this morning, and it doesn't look good, but is it for real, or just a thought balloon to see what Aussies really think?

The pricing was only up for a few minutes, but long enough to see that Vodafone's Australian plans aren't as good as those from Optus.

It looks like fears that Vodafone's crappy New Zealand plans would spill over the Tasman to Australia were well-founded.

A sharp-eyed reader alerted us to Vodafone's blunder, but of course this could be a deliberate leak to test the waters.

Vodafone may intend to offer slightly better plans, which will look good compared to the leaking pricing. It's an old trick, politicians do it all the time in the lead up to the budget.

Vodafone's plans start from $189/$309 upfront (8GB/16GB) on a $69 capped plan with 250MB of data.

The highest plan offers the 8GB iPhone for $0 upfront, or $89 for the 16GB plan, on a $169 capped plan with 1GB of data.

Vodafone's data offering of 250MB to 1GB of data per month is particularly surprising, considering Vodafone Australia has by far the country's most generous mobile data pricing for some of its products, such as 5GB per month for $39 with a USB HSDPA modem.

How do Vodafone's plans compare to Optus and Telstra? Please read on to page 2 .
