Ethan Group powers SecureMail with Ironport E-mail
Sunday, 18 September 2005
Sydney, September  16th 2005  IronPort Systems(tm), the market-share leader in email security, has announced that managed service provider the Ethan Group has deployed two IronPort C60 email security appliances in support of its recently introduced SecureMail offering. SecureMail is Ethan Group's email filtering and management service designed for organisations which recognise that email management is not their core business and is therefore best outsourced to a dedicated expert service provider.

Privately held Ethan Group was established in 2002 and has taken SecureMail to market with Optus.  Users of the new service already include Virgin Money, Fujifilm, Rolls Royce Australia and the Bathurst Regional Council.  Also, SecureMail is endorsed for its many thousands of member companies and individual practitioners by organisations such the Law Society of New South Wales, the Australian Dental Association and the Australian Newsagents' Federation.

Michael Bosch, IronPort CEO for Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, said Ethan Group had deployed two C60s, the company's carrier grade appliance as used by Global 2000 companies and some of the world's largest ISPs.  All IronPort appliances incorporate Sophos(r) Anti-Virus and Symantec's BrightMail(r) Anti-Spam for effective email threat prevention, groupware protection and policy enforcement.

Other IronPort customers in the Australasian region include the CSIRO, Telstra, Tourism Australia, iiNET, Air New Zealand, Cisco Systems Australia, the defence contractor BEA Systems, Powercor, Ozemail, TVNZ, Museum Victoria and the New Zealand Police.

Ethan Group co-founder and Director Tony Geagea said, "With our SecureMail managed email service, including email security, users make no capital investment; they don't need to employ either in-house support or a contracted support service; and they are always assured of configuration currency.  We take away the worries of security, privacy and regulatory compliance to give our customers 'clean email' - email peace-of-mind.  Together with Optus and IronPort, we remove the email risks and pain."

Tony Geagea offers a 30-day trial of SecureMail.  Thereafter, customers opt for a contract term with a minimal once-only setup fee and a scale of monthly charges for SOHO users through to organisations with a thousand or more addressees.
