According to the study 23.9 percent of Americans sent or received photos or videos (27.6 percent in Europe), 19.1 percent received SMS advertising (49.3 percent), 14.4 percent accessed new services via phone browser (9.6 percent), 13.1 percent used email (8.6 percent), 9.3 percent bought a ringtone (3.6 percent), 9.1 percent played a downloaded game (8.4 percent), 7.9 percent listened to music (18.5 percent), 6.3 percent watched video (9.1 percent), 5.2 percent accessed social networking sites (2.9 percent) and 5.0 percent accessed a downloaded application (3.0 percent).
