Page 2 of 2 Icahn is reported to have said in an “open letter” that the problem for Microsoft with Yahoo was Yahoo’s board, with Icahn reported as saying in a phone interview with Reuters that: "I am moving towards getting a potential new management team for Yahoo including a new CEO.”Featured Whitepaper

Reuters also reported of what is presumed to be the same “open letter” from Icahn that: "Steve made it clear to me that if a new board were elected, he would be interested in discussing a major transaction with Yahoo.” Apparently while this could mean Microsoft might just purchase Yahoo’s search business, it could also mean Yahoo could still get scooped up holus-bolus into the Borg Collective... I mean, Microsoft. Perhaps Jerry Yang will just have to learn the hard way after all that “resistance is futile!”... although the deal is definitely not done yet. |
