“Further, it would seem entirely appropriate for eBay to be required to promptly correct the various announcements and pop-up messages on its web site that presently serve to perpetuate the misinformation. “eBay's continued and underhanded efforts to circumvent Australian consumer protection legislation are reprehensible and must be stopped.” The letter then points to eBay Australia CEO Simon Smith’s comments in The Sheet and formally concludes. So, it does not appear as if the eBay saga has ended yet, and what the ACCC does next will be most interesting indeed to see. |
