Page 2 of 2 Sony are especially proud of the new “wireless buzzers” that come with the game (although there is a disc-only version of the game, too). You can also use them with older Buzz titles on the PS2 like Buzz! The Pop Quiz, Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz and Buzz! The Music Quiz, amongst others. Sony says more than 500,000 copies of Buzz titles and more than 300,000 buzzers have been sold in Australia and that “Buzz! has become a household name for quiz show lovers.” Kendall Bascetta, Software Product Manager at SCE Aust. says that “One of the most exciting things about Buzz! Quiz TV is the ability for players to write their own quiz about any subject they choose. They can upload their quiz to the MyBuzz community site and share it with their friends or the whole world.” “Add to this the new wireless buzzers and additional downloadable content and this is truly a whole new way to experience the fun of Buzz! and we believe it will attract a new fan base for this Australian favourite,” says Bascetta. Buzz! Quiz TV is available now, and costs AUD $59.95 for the software only, or $109.95 for the game bundled with the wireless buzzers. Definitely sounds cool, and it's a great example of a “family friendly game” for the PS3, although because Buzz has been around on the PS2 for some time, it’s hardly Sony’s first foray into games the whole family can enjoy. Still, it’s yet another weapon in the arsenal against the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox 360, as all three companies try to one-up the other in the ultimate multiplayer console battle of them all: selling consoles and all their accessories and hardware to consumers in the retail environment!
