Page 1 of 2 Although there are other quiz show games like the popular “Scene It” series that run on DVD players and games consoles too, Buzz is a popular character in his own right, and I’m sure people have been wondering when he’s migrate from his PS2 confines to the much roomier and high definition environment that is the PS3. So, aside from looking better, sounding better, having downloadable content from the PSN (Playstation Network) and wireless buzzers, what’s another way to increase the value of Buzz to consumers? The ability to create your own quizzes online through the “new MyBuzz community site” after which you can “play them in the Buzz! studio or share them with the wider Buzz! community.” Hey, that’s cool. The game has 5,000 questions, and they’re split into give channels: The Music Channel; The Movies and TV Channel; The Sports Channel; The Knowledge Channel; and The Lifestyle Channel. You can also use the new “channel hopper” mode to mix up your questions with downloaded content, and presumably with any questions you’ve created in the MyBuzz community site. Sony says that there’s also a new “Sofa Vs Sofa online multiplayer gaming feature” which lets you play against other friends and families in their own homes, while you’re in yours, as long as you both have PS3s, the Buzz! Quiz TV game and broadband. Sounds like it will take “online gaming” into new directions, and I’d love to try it out. I’ve played Buzz on the PS2 with friends and have always enjoyed it, but playing Buzz against friends across town, the country or the planet will no doubt be a popular feature. Please read on to page 2. |
