Dell 'Windows Vista Bonus' is a PC with Windows XP instead E-mail

The second is far more intriguing. By exploiting what Dell describes as "a loophole in the Microsoft licensing agreement that allows for downgrade rights" it is able to sell a Dell branded 'Windows Vista Bonus' version.

The bonus, ironically, is that you get a copy of Windows XP Professional pre-installed with a Vista license. The idea being that customers can then upgrade to Vista when they are ready. "And yes" Bukowski confirms "Dell will support both OSs."

One can only wonder what Microsoft is going to make of all this. It could prove to be an interesting test of the new order at Microsoft HQ, now that Bill has gone...
