There are more World of Warcraft weapons than you can throw the Twin Blades of Azzinoth at. From Alcor's Sunrazor to a Warp Slicer, with a couple of hundred others in-between. The new Blizzard Authenticator, however, might just save your virtual life from a very real world foe...

According to Guinness World Records, the Gamer's Edition, World of Warcraft is the most popular Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) in the world thanks to around 10 million subscribers spread across the planet.

This record looks like being broken real soon by the virtual hotel come social networking 'game' Habbo Hotel which currently attracts 9.5 million users every month. Habbo has just announced that there are some 100  million Habbo avatars now registered and expects to smash the WoW 10 million record within a month.

Many will argue, however, that there is a huge difference between meeting people in a virtual hotel and leading a raiding party across the vast World of Warcraft environment. Certainly the latter fulfills more of the requirements you would expect to see in something that qualifies as a MMORPG. Not least the ability to trade and use weapons.

There are hundreds of weapons in World of Warcraft, non-players can view most of the within the weapons database at Wowhead. Some are simple and fairly useless, others are expensive, very powerful and extremely sought after by high level players.

Although it happened in another online role playing game, Legend of Mir 3, one player in China became so incensed when his online friend sold the 'dragon sabre' which they had jointly won within the game that he stabbed the chap in the real world. Stabbed him to death, in fact, after police told him that virtual property was not protected by real law.

So what is this new World of Warcraft weapon that might be the most powerful ever released? Read on to find out...
