Pay As You Go prices for the UK iPhone 3G were briefly published on the O2 web store today. I say briefly because they mysteriously vanished soon after. But not before Internet users had spotted them...The cost of a Pay As You Go iPhone 3G handset has been the cause for much discussion in the UK. Mainly because nobody, not Apple, not the official UK network reseller O2, not anybody is actually saying. Featured Whitepaper
5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
The iPhone 3G 8GB PAYG will be priced at £299.99 (AUD $600) while the 16GB handset comes in at £359.99 (AUD $720) on a PAYG tariff. A tariff which, according to the O2 pricing page, will include unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi. Well unlimited for the first 6 months following handset activation that is. After this it will cost £10 (AUD $20) per month for the unlimited browsing and WiFi that such a handset as the iPhone 3G really does demand. Now here comes the twist: No sooner had O2 posted the PAYG pricing details, and no sooner had that blogger copied them, than the page with the pricing mysteriously vanished. It was replaced by this one which funnily enough omits to mention any pricing what so ever. All the O2 PAYG page does say is: "iPhone is coming soon for Pay & Go. Customers will soon be able to enjoy all the great features of iPhone without a monthly contract with the iPhone for Pay & Go. Just register your interest opposite and we'll drop you a line in early July to tell you what you need to do to be one of the first to get your hands on the new 3G iPhone. More information on the new iPhone will be available shortly so come back in a few days or visit www.apple.com" CONTINUED |
