If you get the phone through Optus, they'll throw in a complete set of Route 66 Australian maps. With Vodafone? You'll get a 1G memory card instead.

Vodafone will give you a i780 for $0 upfront on a $79 per month Super Cap contract; Optus is not yet showing a price for the new model.

If you're on a smaller budget but still want GPS, the Symbian S60-based i560 slider phone may be a better fit. It's available for $0 upfront on a $49 cap. Once again, Optus offers the Route 66 maps and software, while Vodafone includes a 1G card for storing your music and 3 megapixel photos.
