IBM bumps Belda to board E-mail

IBM has elected Alain Belda to its board of directors.

"Alain is an exceptional business leader with a broad and deep understanding of the global marketplace, and his experience and knowledge will be an asset to IBM. We are delighted that Alain will be joining the IBM board." said chairman, president and chief executive officer Samuel Palmisano.

Belda is chairman of Alcoa, where he has worked in various position since 1969. He is also a director of Citigroup.

Belda holds a degree in business administration from Universidade Mackenzie, Brazil.
