Some GTA IV players react badly to getting caught in a virtual paedo website sting operation, while playing the game! Liberty City Police Department respond with a five star wanted level when players try to access a certain website on the in-game web browser.

As if Grand Theft Auto IV was not controversial enough, what with the adult themes, the violent game play and the ripe language. Indeed, the Australian version had to be edited so as to meet the requirements of the classification system.

But now a UK tabloid newspaper has exposed a spoof paedophile website that features within the game.

Some players like the thrill of the chase, and deliberately do things to increase their wanted level in-game. Killing a policeman or shooting down one too many innocent bystdanders for example. But even then, that's only a three star wanted level. To achieve a five star rating and get the SWAT equivalent NOOSE troops after you, complete with Annihilator helicopters, you have to do a whole lot more.

Unfortunately, as some players have discovered, you could just try and access the wrong website using one of the terminals in the games many Internet cafes. Head over to the child beauty pageant website using an in-game virtual browser and you are greeted by a LCPD statement flashing on screen.
