Mac cloner serves up half-price Leopard Server

Page 2 of 2 The OpenServ 1100 is a 1U server based on single or dual quad-core Xeon processors, and provides room for up to four hard drives (one 750G 7200 rpm SATA unit is standard equipment). It can be ordered with CentOS, Ubuntu Server, Windows Server 2003 or 2008, Mac OS X 10.5, or Mac OS X 10.5 Server. The OpenServ 2400 is a 2U model with six drive bays and otherwise similar specifications. The OpenServ models compete with Apple's Xserve, which is is available with a single 2.8GHz, or dual 2.8 or 3.0GHz Xeon CPUs. Psystar provides the choice of 2.5 or 2.66GHz parts. Apple also wins in terms of maximum memory configuration, offering up to 32G compared with Psystar's 16G. Apart from price, the OpenServ's main advantage is in storage: the four or six drive bays trump the Xserve's three, although Apple does offer an optional battery-backed RAID card.
