Can eBay continue to force sellers to offer PayPal as an option? E-mail

Some may believe the lines are a little fuzzy when we consider enforcement of eBay sellers to offer a product such as PayPal as an option.

However, the fact of the matter is we are talking about sellers not buyers. At present, buyers still have the option of choosing not to open a PayPal account if they want to buy a product through eBay Australia. Since May 21, eBay Australia sellers no longer have that choice - they must open a PayPal account and offer PayPal as an option.

So what Australia and the rest of the eBay community will want to know come July is whether the ACCC will not just put eBay's ambitions to enforce PayPal only payments to rest. eBay sellers especially will want to know whether their lawful right to choose not to offer a particular payment system will be restored.
