eBay continues to flog dead horse by challenging no PayPal only ruling

Page 1 of 2 ! eBay has issued a statement on its Australian website expressing its disappointment that Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has blocked its plan to enforce the use of PayPal on the eBay Australia site. However, with just about everyone outside eBay agreeing with the ACCC decision, eBay has incredibly decided to challenge the ruling. Does eBay know the meaning of the expression flogging a dead horse? The short eBay statement in part reads: "ACCC draft notice undermines online consumer protection "eBay will continue to fight for safety benefits for consumers "13 June 2008: eBay challenges yesterday’s Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s (ACCC) draft notice and is disappointed that the ACCC’s current view delays the opportunity to provide consumers a more secure way to shop on eBay.com.au with confidence. "eBay intends to work with the ACCC and hopes to achieve a final outcome which has the safety and security of eBay’s members as its paramount objective. eBay will delay the removal of other payment methods from the site until Tuesday 15 July." Anybody who has read the draft ACCC notice will immediately see through the eBay statement and recognise it for the hogwash that it is.
