The Mozillazine site has also announced that Firefox 3 will ship June 17.

But it also notes there could still be a last-minute delay, even though Firefox users are being advised to get ready to party.

Mozillazine says: “It should be noted that there is still a small chance that a show-stopper bug could delay the release.”

“However, barring any unforeseen disasters, Firefox fans can now circle next Tuesday in their calendars as Firefox Download Day when millions of users will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the most software downloads in 24 hours. Anyone planning to host a Mozilla Party on the actual Firefox 3 launch day now also knows which date to target.”

So, Firefox 3 is nearly ready to rock. If you’re a Mac OS X user of Firefox 3 RC2 or any earlier version, you should upgrade to the latest RC3 version, and then upgrade again on June 17.

While an RC3 version of Firefox 3 is also being made available for Windows and Linux Firefox 3 RC2 users, they are “exactly the same” code as RC2, so there’s no need to upgrade until the final code is released.
