Apple has followed up the release of the latest version of QuickTime with updates to its iMovie video editing software and iDVD disc authoring application.Featured Whitepaper

(Tip for young players: after installing software via Software Update, always run it again to see if there are any contingent updates.) The updates are also available at Apple Downloads. Apple is typically terse about the changes. In both cases, "This update addresses general compatibility issues, improves overall stability, and addresses a number of other minor issues." At one level, you can argue that unless the changes are visible to the user (eg new features or changes in the behaviour of existing features) there's no real need to describe them in detail. But anyone who has run into a problem with either program would want to know if that particular issue has been "addressed" - if it has but still manifests on that particular system, further investigation is called for. So if either application's misbehaviour has inconvenienced you, why not leave a comment to describe it and to say whether or not the new version fixed it? |
