The App Store will make it easy to buy software for the iPhone, but that ease of use applies equally to free software. A straw poll carried out by Munster early this week at the Worldwide Developers Conference (also reported by AppleInsider) found over 70 percent of items in the App Store are likely to be free. That suggests to me that the paid applications will need to be very good if his 'one $US10 application per user per year' estimate is to come true, although the emergence of a few relatively expensive yet highly popular apps could swing it. |
