At this stage, the price is only known for the US, where it will cost $US199 for the 8G model and $US299 for the 16G model. A two-year contract with AT&T will be required. In Australia, Optus says pricing and plans will be available "at a later date" while Vodafone will spill the beans "soon". One thing that Vodafone has revealed - and that's certain to be welcomed by some potential buyers - is that the iPhone 3G will be available on prepay as well as contract plans. The situation seems much the same in the other 'first wave' countries: the July 11 release date is confirmed, but there's no news of prices or plans yet. |
