When you've got young kids running around, it's great to have video capture at your fingertips. The iPhone already has a good still camera. I don't think video capture is too much to ask for.

7. Dedicated camera button

Yes, I know it goes against Apple's minimalist design philosophy, but using the iPhone's on-screen camera shutter button makes it difficult to keep the phone still as you take a photo. What the iPhone really needs is a camera button at the bottom of the right side of the phone. This would let you turn the phone on its side and have the shutter button under your right index finder. Now you can hold the phone still and take nice sharp pics, something that will be important if Apple boosts the megapixel count on the camera.

8. Front camera

3G and video calls seem to go hand in hand, so I'd say a 3G iPhone really needs a second camera in the front. To be honest I don't think I'd ever use it, but hey it's my list of demands and I can demand whatever I want. As 3G spreads more people will have video phones, so eventually the lack of video call capabilities (whether cellular or VoIP) will be annoying.

9. Copy and paste

Everyone raves about the iPhone's on screen keyboard and impressive browser, but few people point out the fact you can't copy and paste text. I'd really like to be able to write blog posts in the iPhone's Notes app and then copy and paste them into blogging software (although using Joomla! on a small screen would be even more painful than using Joomla! on a desktop).

10. Better interference shielding

My first-gen iPhone interferes with other electrical equipment more than any other phone I've ever owned. The interference is so bad I have to put the iPhone into flight mode when I'm trying to conduct telephone interviews on my desk phone. It's no wonder iPhone docks with speakers need extra shielding. If Apple could reduce the interference coming for the second-gen iPhones, I'd be extremely grateful.

So that's my list of demands, oh, and of course $200,000 in unmarked, non-sequential hundred dollar bills plus a helicopter to take me and my hostages to the airport.
