Page 3 of 3 Another nifty addition for iPhones only is the VideoRecorder app. This one I do have on my iPhone, and if you want to continue using it, you’ll need to pay a few dollars to unlock all the features, but it definitely proves that the iPhone should have come with a video recording capability. Hopefully it’s there in iPhone 2.0 software as standard!Featured Whitepaper
5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
I did sort of get this one going a few weeks ago when I tried it, but others have reported a lot more success. Citrix has also recently achieved something similar, which I’ll talk about in an upcoming article. So... the big question after this revolves around these programs, or programs like it, becoming available on the official iPhone and iPod Touch App Store. Will Apple blacklist these apps because they’ve flouted Apple’s rules for months? Will Apple bless copy-cat apps instead of these originals as punishment? Or will Apple allow some of these apps to become immediately available in an authorised manner from the App Store, as long as the ability to load them onto jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touches is withdrawn? The answers will come in 6 days, but new unlocking and jailbreaking mechanisms might take a bit longer than that. Much as I’ll want to install the latest firmware right away, I’ll certainly be waiting until the hackers get their iPhone 2.0 firmware compatible unlock tools tested and made available first! Any cool iPhone and iPod Touch apps you’ve used that have caught your fancy? Let us know what you think! And here's the link again to the original LifeHacker story. |
