Sydney – 2 June, 2008 – WatchGuard® Technologies, a global provider of network security solutions, has announced the appointment of Byron Shaw as Territory Sales Manager Southern Region based in Melbourne. Shaw joins WatchGuard with over 15 years’ corporate and enterprise sales experience and is responsible for driving sales of the company’s range of Unified Threat Management appliances and supporting the company’s channel partners in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.Prior to joining WatchGuard, Shaw was Consulting Sales Manger – Southern Region at Symantec where he was successful in leading security consultancy sales within both the private and public sector and managing key business partners in selling complex security solutions. His previous experience also includes Business Development Managers positions at Fujitsu Australia and ComputerCORP. In both these roles he enhanced momentum in enterprise business sales in target vertical markets and nurtured ongoing partner relationships. Shaw has also worked as Business Development Manager in the electronic security industry selling high end access control including biometric security solutions. “Byron’s knowledge and experience in dealing with large corporate businesses and the channel throughout the southern region of Australia will benefit WatchGuard’s ongoing business pipeline and market development.
