iPhone invasion builds as Scandinavia, Eastern Europe fall E-mail

Contrary to early expectations of exclusivity set by Apple's behaviour, some countries (eg Australia and Italy) will see the iPhone on offer from more than one carrier.

Each country added to the list improves Apple's chance of reaching - or exceeding - its target of selling 10 million iPhones this year.

The world is watching and waiting for an announcement about the 3G iPhone, which is expected to be made by Steve Jobs at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in the US on June 9.

In Australia, the biggest carrier Telstra has yet to make an announcement about the iPhone, while its two biggest competitors Optus and Vodafone have both announced iPhone agreements.
