PS3 BioShock – A Xbox 360 ex-exclusive E-mail

Not that it really was a true Xbox 360 exclusive, heck even the iTWire review was of the PC version.  But evidence for a PS3 version of the much acclaimed shooter set in a dystopian underwater city is firming.

It has been a talking point even before the release of BioShock last year.  2K Boston/Australia’s own initial announcement proclaiming the game arriving to ‘PCs and next-generation consoles’.

Since then only hints of a PS3 version have been forthcoming.  Advertising for experience PS3 coders, various hints dropped in obscure files on the PC version of the game and so on.

Now comes pictorial confirmation the 2K Boston/Australia will be bringing the watery fun of BioShock to the PlayStation 3.

UK magazine PSM3 has a lengthy preview for the game about to hit news-stands on June 5th.

Other than the article confirming the arrival on PS3 and containing some screen shots of the game, details are sketchy.  iTWire is contacting the local arm of Take-Two for comment.  At this point in time, ‘no comment’ is the only response.

The rumour mill has already started, with PS3 ‘extra content’ musings doing the rounds.  Though, given the dearth of PC and Xbox 360 BioShock additional content, and the fact that 2K Boston/Australia will be [should be] hard at work on the sequel, chances are that the PS3 version will be a direct port.

This is great news for PS3 owners, for the rest of us we start our hanging out for the expected 2009 arrival of BioShock 2.
