Page 2 of 2 The phone comes with a wall charger and can be used as many times as you like – just plug in a regular SIM card and call away. As the phone is pre-paid, there are no contracts. Who’d want to pay off the cost of a $10 phone over 24 months anyway? No-one, that’s who, and obviously, no such plans are offered or have ever been considered. Hop-on are also offering branding opportunities to any company that might want to offer the phone as a promotional item or what we’d call a gimmick. Hop-on CEO Michaels suggests: “Instead of another coffee mug, offering a branded cell phone is a memorable branding opportunity that will literally keep you in touch with your customers. What would be a better way for companies, such as insurance brokers to give to their customers, handy in case of an accident!” Well, only if there’s a working pre-paid SIM card inside, or if you ensure your customer puts a working SIM card into the phone. Still... for all those curmudgeons and luddites who hate technology and all its advances but perhaps are willing to make an exception for the world’s simplest, least gadget-y and no-feature phone, the Hop-on is here. Whether you make the leap to actually owning one is another question, but as far as value for money goes, it’s hard to have any complaints at US $10!
