Fortunately, former Microsoft security specialist Jesper Johansson (if you get a chance to hear him speak, take it) has published instructions for restoring normal operation to a computer that has already fallen foul of the problem. You'll find them in his blog - scroll down until you see the red text that begins with "WARNING". So far, these seem to be the only XP SP3 issues of any substance reported. For the sanity of XP users, let’s hope there aren’t any more lurking in the woodwork! |
