Perhaps this destructive craving is why Boom Blox fulfils the gamer inside but at the same time will not draw the critical eye of parents or for that matter *cough* spouses. Hollywood's Steven Spielberg has lent his name to this game , apparently the first of many to be endorsed by the beardy director. And for this title he should be proud to have his name plastered over it – perhaps more so than War of the Worlds. It won't take long to explain. Over the course of around 300 puzzle levels broken into a bunch of single player and party modes Boom Blox will delight with the classic simple and addictive game-play. After a brief tutorial, the single player modes are Explore and Adventure: Explore is further broken into the various elements that make up the game, with a bunch of levels in each category. At its heart Boom Blox is a puzzle game, each Explore level tasks the player with a single objective, with a rating based on how well it is achieved. Each level is a three dimensional themed play field constructed in Blox, each construction is just stacks of these Blox (think the family boardgame Jenga). |
