Steven Spielberg has lent his name to the latest Electronic Arts Wii venture Boom Blox, the result is a difficult to define offering that can only be delivered currently on the Wii platform.  Is it a game, toy or puzzle? Doesn't matter, Boom Blox on the Nintendo Wii is a tower of fun.

Maybe gamers truly quest for destruction in the titles they play.  Heck there are plenty of serious shooters on the market where violence is the key.  There is many a racing game where destruction of competitor vehicles is a hoot and then there are many Real Time Strategy games were victory is solely dependent on the annihilation of the enemy base.

Perhaps this destructive craving is why Boom Blox fulfils the gamer inside but at the same time will not draw the critical eye of parents or for that matter *cough* spouses.

Hollywood's Steven Spielberg has lent his name to this game , apparently the first of many to be endorsed by the beardy director.  And for this title he should be proud to have his name plastered over it – perhaps more so than War of the Worlds.

It won't take long to explain.  Over the course of around 300 puzzle levels broken into a bunch of single player and  party modes Boom Blox will delight with the classic simple and addictive game-play.

After a brief tutorial, the single player modes are Explore and Adventure:  Explore is further broken into the various elements that make up the game, with a bunch of levels in each category.

At its heart Boom Blox is a puzzle game, each Explore level tasks the player with a single objective, with a rating based on how well it is achieved.  Each level is a three dimensional themed play field constructed in Blox, each construction is just stacks of these Blox (think the family boardgame Jenga).
