Telstra's directory and online information services arm, Sensis, has signed up KIT digital (formerly the ROO Group) to enable its advertisers to deliver video messages via Sensis webs sites.

Sensis has signed a three year agreement with KIT digital under which KIT digital will provide development, integration and consulting services enabling Sensis to publish, manage and distribute video content over its web sites - Yellow, White Pages, Trading Post, CitySearch, UBD, Gregory's and Whereis. KIT digital will also provide hosting, customer support and maintenance services.

KIT digital chairman and CEO, Kaleil Isaza Tuzman claimed that Sensis was "blazing a trail that we expect to be replicated globally as more and more classified ad providers adopt multimedia applications," and that his company's partnership with Sensis would "change the way classified sites promote their clients' content now and in the future."

KIT digital claims to enable its clients to profitably market online video under their own brand through a device-agnostic, multilingual platform for content management and delivery that includes workflow and publishing, content streaming (live and VoD), indexing and storage, advertising, content and analytics and rights management. It counts among its clients News Corp, Verizon, Holden, and Google.

Cheryl Vize, general manager, product capability of Sensis said that KIT digital had been chosen for its expertise in developing and implementing custom, end-to-end digital video solutions. "The combination of proprietary video technology and marketing expertise provides us with a platform that will be integral to monetising our digital assets and enhancing our customers' experience."

KIT digital was founded in 2001 as the ROO Group and now employs 150 people in Dubai, Melbourne, New York, London, Milan, and Bogotá. It announced in April plans to change its name to KIT digital "to better reflect the company's updated strategic direction and corporate initiatives." This followed the acquisition and integration of its interactive marketing agency subsidiary, Sputnik Agency and of Kamera Content, a company that provides its corporate clients - including Vodafone, MSN, Orange, Telefónica and China Mobile - to deliver IPTV to their customers via both mobile and online networks. KIT said that deal would add full mobile distribution capabilities to its online video service offering.
