The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) has chosen Cisco for a major overhaul of its voice and data network.
While the value of the deal was not disclosed, it includes routers, switches, wireless and security hardware, along with 7000 IP phones.
The publicly funded CSIRO is Australia's leading scientific research organisation. The two organisations have a history that dates back to 1989 - CSIRO was Cisco's first Australian customer.
