ASG Group has won a contract to provide managed services to a federal government department.

ASG will supply and manage the IT assets of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, including desktops, laptops, servers and printers. The company will also provide helpdesk services.

The contract, which runs for four years with an option for another four, has an estimated value of $A30 million.

ASG already has contracts with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Department of Human Services. At the state level, customers include the Victorian Department of Education and the Western Australian Office of Shared Services. The company's commercial clients include Multiplex, Virgin Blue, Ericsson/Hutchinson and Inpex.

"We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and to have a long term relationship with the department on delivering service for its national IT infrastructure," said ASG federal region general manager Richard Everett.

"There are a number of federal-level tenders coming up in the next few months and we believe this latest contract win with the Federal Government positions ASG very well to further build out position in this very important market," he added.
