"Unified wired / wireless switching with centralised AP management offers the sort of flexibility and ease of management small to medium-sized organisations are been looking for but, for many, has been beyond their reach," said Maurice Famularo, marketing director at D-Link Australia & New Zealand. "Our DES-1228P Web Smart switch and DWL-3140AP low-cost wireless access point offer an easy way to configure a unified solution for today's diverse network environments at a price even a small business can afford." The DES-1228P has a built-in browser-based interface for the configuration and management of the switch itself as well as the control of supported access points. Up to 15.4 watts of Power over Ethernet can be delivered per port, allowing the connection of Wi-Fi access points, IP phones, networked cameras and other devices. Other features include VLAN support, quality of service prioritisation, and prevention of denial of service attacks. The DES-1228P costs $A1130/$NZ1299, while DWL-3140P access points are $A170/$NZ199 each.
