Ubisoft announce a new chapter in the Prince of Persia franchise.  This time around our favourite buff turban wearer will be bounding onto the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as the PC and Nintendo DS.

The Prince of Persia series has been around for a long time now, perhaps the name should be changed to Prince of Iran.

No subtitle for the new game has been announced and no other details than aiming for a late 2008 release.  Ubisoft point out that the game is being developed by the same team that brought the sumptuous Assassin’s Creed to our screens earlier this year, Ubisoft Montreal.

They also point to the pedigree of the PoP series: Since Prince of Persia(r) Sands of Time's launch in 2003, Prince of Persia has won over 30 awards worldwide, including the highly coveted Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2003's Console Platform Best Action/Adventure Game of the Year for Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time(tm). To date, the Prince of Persia franchise has sold approximately 10,3 million units worldwide.

Look out for the Prince running the walls of a Xbox 360, PS3, PC or DS later in the year.
