The CDMA media campaign, entitled Last Call for CDMA, will feature prominent press advertisements appearing from Thursday, 24 April. Care has been taken to include major regional newspapers in the campaign as many of the remaining CDMA customers are located in country areas.

Aside from raising awareness about the upcoming closure of the network, the advertising copy advises customers on how to migrate to a new mobile service, which includes visiting a Telstra shop or visiting the CDMA Upgrade to Next G website for further information.

“The major take out from the advertising campaign is that no calls can be made or received on the CDMA network after midnight on 28 April 2008,” Mr Goldsworthy said.

“After that time CDMA will fade into history so now is the time migrate across to a new mobile network like the Telstra Next G network.”

For details on what Telstra engineers will be doing to close down the CDMA network from 12.01am on the morning of Tuesday, April 29th, please read our previous article, “Telstra engineers gear up for CDMA close down”.
