Wikimedia Foundation appoints new treasurer

West's career includes senior executive roles at Yahoo! and TiVo. He has also worked for JP Morgan & Co, and the US mission to the United Nations. He holds a BA in History from Yale University. "I am delighted to join a charity that has such an extraordinary real-world impact," said West. "I am also thrilled to have the opportunity to bring my financial experience to serve the community that has created Wikipedia and so many other impressive projects."
