Hawking also commented on intelligent life other than humans.

He stated, “Are we alone?”

Hawking answered his question with: "While there may be primitive life in our region of the galaxy, there don't seem to be any advanced intelligent beings."

He rejected the idea that we have been visited by alien life forms here on Earth, stating, “We don't appear to have been visited by aliens. Why would they only appear to cranks and weirdoes?"

Hawking also poked fun at the human race here on Earth, saying, "Primitive life is very common and intelligent life is fairly rare. Some would say it has yet to occur on earth."
