NCR has appointed Ross Checkley as managing director, South Pacific Area, which encompasses Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Mr Checkley has been with NCR for three years, most recently serving as vice president of Financial Solutions in the South Pacific.  In that position, he led a team that achieved significant market share growth in products and services, according to NCR.  He came to NCR with an extensive background in business management, having held several executive roles with the Brambles group in Australia and the United States.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for NCR, leading the way the world connects, interacts and transacts with business,” said Mr Checkley.  “NCR already has an incredibly strong platform in self-service across the financial and retail industries, where we are number one globally.

“We plan to use these strong roots to grow our business in the hospitality, travel, health and entertainment sectors and, in doing so, enable businesses and consumers to connect and do business how, when and where consumers choose.”

In making the appointment, Louis Madeley, NCR vice president, South Asia Region, said, “Ross brings the tangible experience, skills and vision that will drive NCR’s new direction, achieve profitable growth and attain even greater success in this part of Asia Pacific.”
