Internode finds going ‘naked’ is very popular... for ADSL2+ E-mail

Consumers keen to strip away the shackles of line rental by going naked with ADSL2+ have ogled Internode’s Naked ADSL2+ offerings with well over 1000 sign-ups. It seems that Internode shown that things can look better... naked – and is now offering the service to those with existing phone lines, too.

It was only on the 12th of March, 2008 – a little over a month ago – that Internode went for the motherlode with Naked ADSL2+ , launching their own line-rental free plans that also came bundled with the Internode’s NodePhone VoIP service.

The only fig leaf that remained on Internode’s Naked ADSL2+ packages was one that was hiding a huge and massive, ah... caveat. Naked ADSL2+ was only to be available on new phone lines, leaving those with existing phone lines squarely in the lurch until sometime in the ‘future’.

That future has now arrived, with Internode now saying they’re “taking orders to convert an existing phone service to Naked ADSL2+, significantly widening its potential market.”

Internode product manager Jim Kellett was quick to announce that the first month's demand for Naked ADSL2+ services had “outstripped expectations”.

Kellett said that: "Our Naked ADSL2+ service is proving extremely popular, with more than 1000 signups since we launched a few weeks ago. To meet that demand, we are offering to convert a current telephone service to Naked ADSL2+ at any of the 350 exchanges where this service is available.”

Kellett continued: “At $129, the 'Convert' option has the advantage of being $20 cheaper than a new connection. It's also expected to be much quicker - typically two to four weeks instead of as long as six weeks."
