Pipe Networks has launched a blog site on its project to build its PPC-1 submarine cable link from Sydney to Guam, promising to be "as honest and as open as we can during the project and [to] keep you updated with the highs and lows of the project."

An initial posting on the site http://www.pipeinternational.com explains: "the purpose of this blog is to track the progress of the PPC-1 submarine cable as it is surveyed, installed and delivered. Wherever possible we will provide documents, photographs and possibly video clips of various parts of the project."

In addition to the blog, the site features a discussion forum and a very detailed progress report in which progress on each aspect of the project can be reported. For example there are almost 40 separate benchmarks identified for the Sydney cable station alone, just one of 10 main components of the project, each with a number of sub-items.

Announcing the blog to investors, CEO Bevan Slattery  said the blog would be kept up to date daily with photos, videos, and staff and updates on the system's progress. He said that the project was "progressing ahead of schedule with survey underway and cable manufacture 3 months ahead of schedule."
