From November 14 - 16, 2008. Wide eyed attendees will be able to once again sample the sights and sounds of the expo. At this point in time, the exhibition is taking form with many of the big names having already locked in their space. “The success of the eGames & Entertainment Expo speaks for itself when you consider that in just two years the event has consolidated its standing as the major industry platform to launch and showcase anything to do with electronic games and digital entertainment. We are delighted to have been able to deliver what is now recognised as the definitive industry event for Australia,” commented Noel Gray, Managing Director of Australasian Exhibitions and Events. “All the big names have utilised eGames in past years to promote their new consoles, games and home entertainment products to the market…and the crowds have rewarded them by flocking to the event each year in droves. eGames really has become a mecca for anyone with an interest – be it hard core gamers, families or general enthusiasts – in the latest game and electronic entertainment,” he added. In 2008 the organisers are hoping to expand on what was a fledgling influence of non-game specific home entertainment exhibitors in past years. “We had a small number of exhibitors with home entertainment products at the show last year all of whom reported excellent results and we see this side of the show growing more this year. Buyers of the latest generation consoles are also updating their home entertainment systems and screens in order to realise the full potential of the new graphics so having a substantial home entertainment presence will provide an excellent synergy on the show floor. We are already seeing the signs that this will be the biggest eGames Expo to date,” said Gray. Multimedia Victoria has been an active supporter of the Expo and will again be a major sponsor for the event. There will also be an increased emphasis on education and career opportunities at the show. The support of educational institutions and industry experts means that visitors will be able to gain insight into what a career in the games industry can offer them. Undoubtedly further details on exhibitors and booths will be released, as information comes to hand iTWire will have them for you.
