FirePass meets Common Criteria E-mail
by Stephen Withers
Tuesday, 08 April 2008
F5's FirePass SSL VPN appliance has been certified to Common Criteria EAL2+.

Certification was carried out under the National Information Assurance Partnership, a US government initiative involving the National Security Agency and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The actual testing was performed by InfoGard Laboratories.

The Common Criteria combine dozens of countries' security requirements so that a single testing and certification regime can be applied to multiple geographical markets.

“With FirePass version 5.5.2 achieving Common Criteria certification, F5 reaffirms its commitment to improving product stability, performance, and reliability for a better user experience," said Chris Poulos, managing director, F5 Australia and New Zealand.

"Now, customers have assurance from an independent third party that FirePass meets the security and quality needs of the market," he added.
