An MTV report says that Microsoft is working on a motion controller to
match Nintendo Wii remote control, and the motion control in the PS3
Sixaxis controller. Supposedly due by year’s end, it would eliminate
the fact that the Xbox 360 is the only console without motion control. Featured Whitepaper

Actually I thought there was another motion controller game pad that Microsoft had created that also worked with Midtown Madness, but I can’t find it on the Internet – so, I’m just moving on with the rest of the story. Anyway – all of that is firmly in the past, and while the PC platform remains a massive mover of games, much of the action is now happening on dedicated games consoles, with the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PS3 both sporting motion control, although Nintendo’s version is clearly the superior implementation at the moment. Now, while there have been many rumours about Microsoft deciding to bring motion control to the Xbox 360, Microsoft hasn’t done it yet. This has all now changed with the latest rumour from MTV that an “Xbox 360 version of Wii Remote has been in development since summer”, according to a source that spoke exclusively to MTV News. MTV’s report claims the motion remote has “been in active development at Microsoft since last August”, with Microsoft-owned studio ‘Rare’ working on the project – while Microsoft has predictably told MTV that it “does not comment on rumours and speculation”. Please read onto page 2 to see what Bill Gates said about the topic in 2006 and 2007 – with some very interesting comments indeed – and claims from Sony that “Microsoft has already leveraged all their big assets” for the Xbox 360 – something that will plainly be untrue should the motion controller rumour be on the money!
