So, what about Sony’s claim that Microsoft has no ideas left for the Xbox 360 and has already fired all their big shots? A PC World article looks at claims that Sony says “Microsoft has already leveraged all their big assets”. Well, of course Sony would say that! Wouldn't you, if you were Sony? :-) The article examines things like the lineup of games to come, but makes no mention of any Wii-style motion controllers for the Xbox 360, something that would surely be a huge development for Microsoft this year, if true. MTV’s article quotes former Xbox chief, Peter Moore (now at EA), saying in February 2007 Gameinformer.com interview that: "Since the day I saw Iwata-san [Nintendo president Satoru Iwata] pull the [Wii remote] controller out from under his podium a few years ago at [the Tokyo Game Show], I've always realized that was the right thing for Nintendo to have to do for what they needed to do to be successful in this next generation. And it was always going to be a challenge for us. So, we have plans. This does not come as a surprise." And in February 2008, Sony decided to give their own thoughts on a true Wii-like controller for the PS3, instead of only offering the current SIXAXIS motion control the PS3 delivers. So what did Sony say? Please read onto page 4. |
