The actual racing is pretty average in my opinion, not exactly white knuckle stuff, but at the same time, not really the focus of the game.

The game is about collecting cars, race through three grades of events, collect prize money along the way (up to the limit of 200,000 credits) and then visit then visit the car dealerships for your dream ride.

Apart from the online experience, the other major leap in this GT is graphically.  First sampled with GT concept last year, Prologue looks gorgeous in 1080p high definition.  Graphical presentation and lighting tricks both for in-car and external views are top notch.  Shadows dance across the dashboard and lights reflect from high polished surfaces whilst racing through tunnels.

HDR effects abound as your eyes adjust to sunlight as you negotiate the twists and turns of the variety of tracks.

One quirk that will need to be fixed in an update for folks using the right hand drive version of the game, the side mirrors are reflecting the opposite view of the world.  This is slightly disconcerting when racing in third person or cockpit mode.

Sound is spot on as well – I can confirm with at least one car in the range, as it is the one I drive today - matching the sedate early rounds with the more robust roar of the larger more expensive cars of the later game.

In keeping with tradition, and perhaps the legal agreement from car manufacturers, there is still no damage model within the games racing, not even a scratch.  Even the fastest, no braking rear-end will result in a gentle push off.aq0018.jpg

The built in AI of competitors is as robotic as ever, don’t expect too many mistakes by your digital buddies and don’t expect them to like being nudged off the ideal racing line.
