Nintendo U.S president Reggie Fils-Aime has teased the audience of GameTrailers TV with a promised “Big” announcement around Nintendo’s second half of 2008 line-up.  The bomb is set to drop at the upcoming E3 event.

It is official, the hype machine for July’s E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Centre has been gassed up and kick started.

On last Gametrailers TV in the U.S host Geoff Keighley caught up with Reggie Fils-Aime, and probed him for Nintendo based juicy information.

"We are going to have great new content maximizing all our key franchises," Fils-Aime promised. "It's going to be a good second half."

"There's gonna be a big game for the holiday that the gamers will want," Fils-Aime said. "All I can tell you is what we announce during E3 is gonna be fantastic. The gamer is gonna be excited and the expanded audience is gonna be excited."

How much excitement can Wii owners take?  The speculation has already started on fan-boy laden sites every where.  Could it be?:

* Donkey Kong Wii
* F-Zero
* Animal Crossing Wii
* Kid Icarus
* Star Fox Wii
* Another Zelda title

Or perhaps, as sometimes happens with early hype generators, something far less exciting?  It is interesting that much of the expectation is around existing franchises or remakes, perhaps Nintendo will surprise with a completely new IP.

Have fun getting excited as you wait for E3 in mid July.
