Australian users of Oracle's JD Edwards software in the property and construction industries have formed a special interest user group (SUIG).

Led by JD Edwards partner NDEVR, the group includes representatives of major organisations in this sector including AMP, Westfield, ING and Centro.

"This is the first JD Edwards SIUG for the Property Sector ever to be established in Australia and we are very proud to be able to make it happen, not only for our customers, but also for the whole industry," said Maureen Clifford, CEO of NDEVR.

"The establishment of a special interest user group, as well as the sponsorship of the group for the following 12 months means that we will also gain a better understanding of the issues that affect our clients in the property sector," she added.

The group was inaugurated at the Quest conference for JD Edwards users held in Sydney last week.

It was modelled on a similar group in the US. Clint Osteen, IT director of US-based Granite Properties and president of the Quest USA SIUG for Real Estate said "It's important for JD Edwards users to be able to approach Oracle with a common voice, as this is what drives product development and improvement."

The Property and Construction SUIG is open to all JD Edwards users in the industry.
