With the same kernel (as of Vista SP1), the OSes should in fact behave similarly.”So, while the debate rages over just how much better Windows Server 2008 is at delivering a better ‘workstation’ desktop OS experience than Vista SP1, Microsoft has probably already confirmed internally where Windows Server 2008 is indeed faster than Vista SP1. If so, perhaps we might see a Vista SP2 speed update (or individual speed updates before any new service pack) appear sooner rather than later, giving long-suffering Vista users with a ‘need for speed’, the speed they need! |
