Pavel Baudis, joint founder and Joint President of ALWIL Software also commented that: "We’re very proud of the success of avast! Antivirus, and the community of users and supporters who have helped to make avast! Home Edition the great solution that it has become. When Eduard and I started this project twenty years ago, we had no idea that it would turn into the success it has today, and we are working non-stop behind the scenes to make sure we don’t let our users down, by continuing to be as innovative as we were twenty years ago."

ALWIL say that: “avast! Antivirus is available as two Editions on the desktop: avast! Home Edition is available free-of-charge for non-commercial home use, and is available for download from avast.com and download.com, and can be used free when you register, online at avast.com” – a small step that obviously helps ALWIL keep track of its user base.

They also note that: “avast! Professional Edition can be used in both home and commercial settings, and also forms part of the avast! Professional Family Pack, available for up to ten users (and one Windows Home Server). Both are available to download, trial and purchase on the avast.com website or from any authorized avast! reseller.”

Clearly keen to transform as many free users into paid users as possible, ALWIL have also announced a special offer, allowing users to get a 25% discount until March 31, 2008 by entering in a “50 Million” coupon code in the box provided at ALWIL’s download site or those of its resellers.
