SoundSource (freeware) comes in very handy if you often need to switch audio input or output devices as it puts those settings into the menu bar, avoiding a trip to System Preferences.
Version 2.0 - which requires Mac OS X 10.5 - adds volume sliders to the menu.
Software Watch highlights new and updated Mac software that I think is interesting, useful or otherwise significant. It makes no recommendations - its purpose is merely to provide pointers for people who share my interests.
