"Device management has become increasingly important to our customers and provides significant benefits in terms of ease of use," said Evan Jones, vice president, engineering for Sierra Wireless. "We selected Red Bend for their proven performance, experience with both mobile and M2M, and standards-based interoperability." According to Red Bend, LG Electronics, Motorola, NEC, Sharp, Sony Ericsson and other large handset manufacturers already use its firmware over-the-air (FOTA) mobile client software to deliver compact firmware updates to more than 255 million mobile phones in the hands of consumers. Founded in 1999, Red Bend Software is a privately held, venture capital-financed company with offices in China, Israel, Japan, Korea, the UK and the US. |
